I’m sorry to announce that we have cancelled Country Rockin’ Wednesdays at Mahalo Cove. I truly appreciate everyone who came out to support it and am so grateful for the many new friends we have made there. I also want to thank Mahalo Cove for the opportunity over these past 11 months.
While we had a good number of dancers turn out each week, we didn’t have enough sales to make it work. This is an issue that’s plagued line dancers for years (we don’t drink a lot because we want our whits about us to dance, but then the bar doesn’t make enough money to offset the entertainment costs). We are still considering other venues for Wednesdays as well and will seek to keep DJ Freedom with us as he’s been a great addition.
In the meantime, I hope you’ll all join us at Fast Eddie’s every Tuesday night. FE’s has great drink specials (1.50 domestic drafts!) until 9, $5 sliders until 7 and we teach 3 dances every week. So hopefully our new Wednesday night family will come join us there! But let’s all remember how easily these nights can be taken away if we don’t support the establishment that’s providing it free of cost (other local venues charge you a cover and/or fees for lessons). So, come early for dinner and drinks and bring your friends to enjoy the fun and refreshments. Together, let’s make sure we keep line dancing going!
